Meet Dr. Kelly, Pedodontist in Goodyear

Dr. Kelly Hilgers - Pediatric Dentist

I am so excited to welcome you and your child to Hilgers Pediatric Dentistry. As a mother myself, I understand how difficult it is to trust someone else with your child.

On a daily basis, I am trusted by parents just like you to care for their children and keep their children’s smile healthy. I can honestly say that I treat my patients as if they are my own children.

I adore my patients, and I love getting to see their happy, smiling faces. I enjoy working with all of my patients’ families and building a trust that lasts for years.

Making a difference in a child’s life is the most rewarding feeling. My staff and I provide children’s dental care in a way that is comfortable, safe, and fun for the child.

I am sincere in saying that I truly love my job as a pediatric dentist.

In the practice, I use technology and provide treatment options that will make your child’s first dental visit, and every visit, seem less intimidating, and more fun. My husband, Dr. Michael Hilgers, is an orthodontist, and we team together to provide comprehensive care for all of our patients needing extra orthodontic treatment.

By catching dental problems early, we can help your child prevent damage or tooth loss later in life.

The relationships that our office develops with our patients and their families, to us, are priceless. I look forward to getting to know my patients, hearing about all of their adventures in life, and listening to what is important to them at each and every appointment.

Commitment to Education

Professional Information/Education

I am proud to have been practicing pediatric dentistry, and serving the wonderful Goodyear community for over 17 years.

During this time, I have earned several certifications from different professional organizations in my field, including:

  • Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD certified)
  • Certified as a Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD)
  • Certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry – Diode Nd: YAG laser dentistry
  • Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)

From an early age, I always knew that I wanted to work with children, and pediatric dentistry soon became a perfect fit. I received my bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University.

I then went on and received my doctor’s of dental surgery degree from the University of Colorado. I returned to Michigan and served my general practice residency in hospital dentistry at the University of Michigan.

After completing my general practice residency, I served my pediatric dental residency at the University of Connecticut. I completed my professional education by receiving my master’s of science degree in Oral Biology from the University of Louisville.

Continuing education is an important part of my job as a pediatric dentist, and I regularly participate in continuing education opportunities.

Commitment to the Community

Community Involvement/Clubs/Organizations

I am fortunate to live in such a wonderful community. The people, the schools, and the culture make this area such a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

I believe in giving back to the community and showing my support for all those families and individuals who have always supported me and the practice. I frequently volunteer for:

  • The American Cancer Society
  • Race for the Cure
  • Toys for Tots
  • The Arizona Food Bank
  • School fundraisers (St. Thomas Aquinas Ball and the Montessori West Fundraising Committee)
  • Multiple orphanages locally and worldwide
  • School Fundraisers
  • Local Little Leagues

The Love of Family Always Puts a Smile on your Face

Outside of the practice, I am blessed with such a wonderful family. I grew up in Mason, Michigan, on a small farm. My family raised cattle, horses, chickens, and we even had a goat named Mariah.

I have lived in Phoenix since 2005. I love the warm weather, and Arizona has so much to offer when it comes to outdoor activities and enjoying nature.

My husband, Dr. Michael Hilgers, is an orthodontist in Goodyear. We have two children whom we love spending time with.

When I am away from the practice, I most enjoy spending time with my family. We love attending sporting events together, both professional as well as local high school and college team events, traveling, exercising (running, biking, hiking, etc.).

We also thoroughly enjoy fine art and attending the theater. Whenever possible, we love to participate in water sports, especially when visiting the rest of my family in Michigan.

Our Entire Team Welcomes you and your Family

My team is highly trained and certified to treat pediatric dental patients. They have extensive experience in pediatric dentistry which sets the practice apart from other offices that simply try to treat children without any additional training.

My staff truly cares about every child who comes to visit us and strives to make a difference in that child’s life by making the dental visit special, fun, and non-threatening.

I lead the greatest pediatric dental team possible. Also, all of my staff are mothers themselves.

Each and every one of my staff is so compassionate toward our patients and really cares that the patient has a great experience (as if she were treating her own child). From the moment a child walks through our doors, our staff makes certain that every child is greeted with a friendly smile and a cheery “hello,” and helps you and your child find your way around our practice.

My staff is very conscientious not to keep patients waiting and we do our best to see our patients at their appointed time. Once you and your child are greeted by the dental assistant, you are brought to the treatment area where our dental assistant will explain everything about your child’s treatment and answer any questions that you or your child may have.

Every staff member does her absolute best to make sure that you child’s experience is comfortable and fun. So don’t be surprised if at the end of the appointment, your child doesn’t want to leave!

We all are looking forward to meeting you and your child, and helping your little one develop good oral health habits, early.
